My husband and I ate dinner about 3 weeks ago at a Creole restaurant in downtown Tucker. I remember you said you used to live there. Good to hear from you.

This is my story
by XPeterX inborn in.20 years old.only mom is in the truth.i have 2 sisters the one studies occasionally.dad agrees with jw stuff but won't join.i am unbaptised publisher since i was 12,i used to read from the bible and comment but not anymore since february.i seldom miss meetings and go door to door often (well not as often as i should).few or none will call me out of the 125 persons of my congregation and i can't say i know them at all (except 2 persons) even though i 'know' them since 1998.i try to stick to the rule "no wordly friends" but when it comes to friendships in the jw world i end up alone.i honestly know that this situation is encountered by many teens in the org.
globally.maybe that's what jesus said about the absence of love in the last days..

Peter, GET OUT. Start your own life. Make non-JW friends. There is nothing holding you in the JWs.

I'm glad my children don't have to grow up being afraid of cupcakes
by Ilovebirthdays inyesterday, i brought a batch of cupcakes to my son's school.
in passing them out, i started to give one to one of the children, who was a jw.
he immediately started freaking out and screaming "no thank you" over and over.

Nancy Drew: Don't feel bad. My own parents were completely oblivious to what me and my sister went through being raised as JWs. It is very damaging. My husband got me a birthday cake when my first child was very small. It was beautiful and decorated and had my name on it. It was the first one I had ever seen. I cried.

...What really matters in Watchtower World?...
by OUTLAW inthe wbt$ association with the united nations should have been a big deal.....it`s not... jehovah`s witness`s don`t care... the wbt$ pedophile problem should have been a big deal.....it`s not... jehovah`s witness`s don`t care... the "generation change" should have been a big deal.....it`s not... jehovah`s witness`s don`t care... .
if the wbt$ can do anything it wants.....and.....jehovah`s witness`s don`t care what the wbt$ does... is there anything in watchtower world, that matters..besides being obedient to the wbt$?...

No love. I liked my school friends better than the kids my age at the KH. My school friends were better people. I wanted to go to college. I had no desire to marry a JW and live the life that they expect women to live. I did not believe what they were teaching anymore. I realized it was false and weird.

I'd like to know who you were before you were baptized a JW? Were you raised a JW? What religion or denomination of Christianity did you profess before you became a JW.
by SAHARA inif you were raised a jw, how well did you research the history of the org.
before you were baptized?
if you were a convert to the watchtower society , how well did you know the doctrines of the faith before your conversion?

Born in. Both of my parents were ardent JWs up until I was about 12. We had moved to a new city and we never seemed to fit in to this strange congregation. Our meeting attendance slipped a little bit as did field service. I was pressured by the elders to be baptized but I never did. I never doubted that it was the one true religion until I was about 14. I haven't been to a meeting since I was 15. My parents continued to limp along for another 6 years until my father died suddenly. My mother and sister never went to another meeting after that.It was a painful journey and in some ways continue to be so.

My sister-in-law is physically disabled with emphysema. She's only 52 but she has very little oxygen stamina. She is on oxygen and even with that she cannot walk up the slightest hill or even walk more than 50 yards at a very slow pace. She wants to go on trail rides near where they live in Northern North Carolina.
They may just get 1. But they are also looking forward to them keeping the grass cut.

I try to live frugally. The only debt we have is 2 mortgages on 2 houses. They are not large and we have interest rates of 4.75%. My husband's brother and his wife live on a mini-farm. They have a fishing pond, a large garden, a small grove of various fruit trees. They plan to get a couple of mules and some chickens soon.
My 24 year old daughter has dreams of living that way too.

St Ann, you are not alone. It is better to remove toxic people from your life even if they are "family'. I am the same as you. My family is my husband and children. My in-laws are a fairly decent bunch.
I'm really sorry, Snoozy. You may want to remove some toxic people from your life, too.
The JWs grow toxic people.

St Ann: Now that you've told me more, I wouldn't blame you if you didn't go. But is there some way you could go to visit your father or have lunch with him? I hate to see your relationship with him completely severed. Moshe is right. He could be gone in an instant and you would regret not seeing your dad after he has indicated he wants a relationship with you.
